Study buddy for uni · runs on your laptop

Biscuit · Calculus 1
Why is eˣ its own derivative? It feels made up.
Biscuit
Good question to be suspicious about. Look at the curve: at x = 0 it's 1 high, and its slope there is also 1. For eˣ, the height and the slope are always the same number. Which point would you check next? (0, 1)y = eˣ

What it does

Everything a revision week needs, on one laptop

Record the lecture. Get the notes.

Press record, or upload the audio afterwards. Biscuit transcribes while the lecture runs and writes structured notes when it ends, with the facts most likely to come up highlighted.

It all happens on your own laptop. A one-hour lecture never leaves your computer.

The canine forelimb

  • The scapula has no bony joint to the trunk; muscles hold it on.
  • The brachial plexus supplies every forelimb muscle.
  • Carpus: 7 bones in two rows (radial, intermediate, ulnar…)

Diagrams drawn from the real maths

Graphs, beams with their shear force and bending moment, circuits, molecules from their formula, energy profiles. Biscuit works them out, so sin and cos are never the same curve.

Every standard graph shape a course expects you to know, from x² to x⁶, eˣ, ln x and the trig family, with its key points and asymptotes marked.

Quizzes that check the numbers

Quizzes, flashcards and worksheets from any topic, your uploaded slides, or notes Biscuit already made. Written answers are marked with feedback on the mistake you made.

When an answer is a number, Biscuit works it out with real maths instead of trusting the AI's arithmetic.

A 12 kg dog needs meloxicam at 0.1 mg/kg. The suspension is 1.5 mg/ml. How many ml?

0.18 ml
0.8 ml
1.2 ml

Checked: 12 × 0.1 ÷ 1.5 = 0.8

It teaches. It won't do it for you.

Biscuit asks the question that gets you unstuck instead of handing over the answer. It will help you plan an essay and talk through your argument. It won't write the essay.

Typos don't matter to it. What you understand does.

just tell me the reactions at A and B
Biscuit
Nearly there. Take moments about A first: which force then drops out, and what's left on each side?
R_B × 6 = 10 × 2 + 12 × 4.5 so R_B = 12.3 kN
Biscuit
Exactly right. Now vertical forces: what must R_A be?

Private by design

Your work stays on your laptop

The AI runs on your own computer. There's no account to make and nothing to upload, so your lecture recordings, notes and chats are never sent anywhere.

  • No internet needed once it's set up.
  • No usage limits, and no queue at exam time.
  • Nothing about you is used to train anyone's AI.

Find the right Biscuit for your laptop

Enhanced costs more, so check first that your laptop can use it. Enhanced needs an NVIDIA RTX card with 8 GB or more, or an Apple M-series Mac with 16 GB or more. On any other laptop, Enhanced can't do more than Base, so Base is the right pick.

Example: a laptop with an 8 GB RTX card is eligible for Enhanced: fast chat, and the better AI for notes, quizzes and diagrams.

Questions

FAQ

Does it need the internet?

Only to download it and the AI the first time (about 3.5 GB, or 8 GB for Enhanced). After that, everything works offline.

Is it allowed at uni?

Biscuit is built to help you learn: it explains, quizzes and checks your working, and it won't write assessed work for you. Always follow your own university's rules on AI.

What's the difference between Base and Enhanced?

Base runs on almost any laptop from the last five years and does the essentials: chat, notes, quizzes, flashcards and diagrams. Enhanced makes notes, quizzes and diagrams sharper and more detailed on laptops that can handle it. Memory across all your chats and the lecture recorder are add-ons for either plan, and both are included in your first 3 months. The checker above tells you which plan fits your laptop.

Will it slow my laptop down?

While it's thinking, yes, a little, like any demanding app. It lets go of the memory when you're not using it, and warns you before long jobs if you're on battery.

How do updates work?

Updates and fixes are free. Biscuit tells you in the app when a new version is out: install it over the top and your chats, notes and saved work stay exactly where they are.

How does the free trial work?

Sign up on this page, download Biscuit, and type the same email into the app. You get everything for 7 days. One trial per person and per computer. If you don't subscribe, your notes and chats stay on your laptop.

I have a Mac. Which download do I get?

Click the Apple menu (top-left corner) → About This Mac. If it says "Chip: Apple M1" (or M2, M3, M4…), get Mac (Apple Silicon). If it says "Processor" with Intel in it, get Mac (Intel). Most Macs bought since 2021 are Apple Silicon.

What does "first launch price" mean?

It's our thank-you to early students. Join by 30 November 2026 and pay once, £3.75 for Base or £6.99 for Enhanced, for your first 3 months with everything included: memory across all your chats and the lecture recorder. It starts after your free 7-day trial. After that it's £4.49 or £7.99 a month, add-ons optional, and we email you before anything changes.

Why not just use ChatGPT?

Biscuit is built for studying. It makes notes, quizzes and flashcards from your own slides, checks number answers with real maths, can record your lectures and turn them into notes, and can remember across all your chats what you've covered. It runs on your laptop, so it's private, works offline and has no usage limits at exam time. And it teaches you the answer instead of just handing it over.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes, with no contract. If you stop paying, you keep everything you made: you can still open it, search it and export it to PDF.

How much will it cost?

After a free 7-day trial, the first launch price is £3.75 (Base) or £6.99 (Enhanced), paid once, for your first 3 months with everything included, if you join by 30 November 2026. Then it's £4.49 or £7.99 a month, or £35.99 or £63.99 a year. Optional add-ons: memory across all your chats (+£1.49 a month), the lecture recorder (+£1.99), or both (+£2.99). Cancel any time; if you stop, you keep everything you made to open, search and export to PDF. See pricing

  • Starting a trial: your email and an anonymous code for your computer (not its real ID), so each person and computer gets one trial.

The legal basis is your consent (the tick box) and, for trials, our legitimate interest in stopping repeat trials.
